The day started
at 09:30 with Water Front, An opportunity to sail Kayaks, Canoes, Rowing
Boats or just swim and play in the water. After a brief induction we
were released onto the lake (Buddy Tags Permitting). The buddy tags
enabled the water front staff to keep track of who was in which section
of the lake. Using this system nobody (In theory) is left isolated and
at threat of danger.
The lack of Kayaks meant that everybody had to swap around between
crafts regularly. Some people just couldn't grasp this!
After water front we moved onto a series of initiative games. Some of
which proved more dangerous than challenging. (Just ask Gadget about the
Ice). Patrick also attempted to destroy the activity area by leaning
against a now dead tree. Rather intense yet highly amusing stuff.
Shooting sports was the final programmed activity of the day. The
section included the shooting of .22 rifles and Black Powder Muskets.
Later in the evening we attended an International Campfire in which many
of the visiting nations performed their cultural historical
performances. The evening turned out to be a great one. Some of our
contingent really enjoyed it. |
