Saturday was the
International Festival Day and the day of the Closing Ceremony. After
breakfast we started preparations for the festival by setting up our
stall. After setting up the cooking equipment with which to heat the
broth and cook the Kippers, we proceeded to decorate the stall with Manx
flags as if they were confetti. The day was a long one but we all joined
selected Visitors in examining each of the international stands. Some of
the food was great others were... interesting!
After the Festival we had just about enough time to take a group photo
before preparing for a camp-wide supper and prepare for the closing
ceremony.
The closing ceremony started in the Games field where the international
flags were lowered for the last time, we then moved down to the Campfire
Circle for a slideshow of the camp and presentations that the troops
and contingents wished to make.
After the Closing Ceremony we returned to our respective sub-camps for
what could best be described as a camp-fire that took half of the forest
to make. It was absolutely massive. |
