Tuesday was the start of a very long journey. As we left our home stay with Larry and Lisa and packed the trailer with our luggage few of us could anticipate the length of the journey ahead. Many of us took the opportunity to catch up on some sleep in the car as we headed for the airport. We enjoyed coffee and snacks with Rick and Mrs D before passing through an extensively overrated security searching procedure.

The departure lounge was very much boring, although after the past two weeks it is hard to imagine one that wouldn't be. We then boarded a 2 hour flight to Atlanta, many of us took the opportunity to sleep during this period. An hours wait in Atlanta Airport and we boarded a Boeing 777 to Ireland. The aircraft itself is very comfortable although you'll have to excuse any spelling errors because I have been crushed by an old lady in front who decided to drop her seat back!
