Between the
23rd of July and the 11th of August a contingent of eight Scouts aged
13-17 joined three leaders on a trip to Michigan USA for the 2004
Michigan International Camporee.
The contingent travelled to America with scouts from Dublin and
spent a whole week in the care of American families. In that week we managed
to absorb much of the American lifestyle. We went Go-Carting, Ice Skating,
and Swimming. We also visited the Wright Patterson Air Base, and Cedar Point
Amusement Park.
Some of the Explorers also took the opportunity to participate in the
Heritage Trail. A Walk involving 21 Miles over Tracks and Roads.
The second week was spent under canvas at Northwood's Scout Reservation near
West Branch where the Explorers participated in a variety of camp organised
activities.
It is definitely
worth checking out the Camporee Log to see what has
been posted. |
